New Mexico Counties are reporting residents are receiving calls demanding payment by credit card for tax payments. The caller threatens to sell the taxpayer’s property if payment is not made immediately. This is a scam and residents are advised to hang up.
San Miguel County does not accept tax payments over the phone or by credit card. San Miguel County recommends residents do not give personal information over the phone if you are not absolutely certain to whom you are speaking.
